On April 2, the lights of the iconic Adolfo Mejía Theater will officially kick off the 64th edition of the festival with the screening of the documentary “Alma del desierto”, directed by Cartagena native Mónica Taboada-Tapia. With this historic event, Monica becomes the first woman from Cartagena to open the festival, marking a milestone for female and local representation in the world of cinema.
