In this 64th edition, the city kicked off the festival with a special performance of Movies in the Neighborhoodsa program that brings cinema to local communities. On the evening of Monday, March 31, the Espíritu del Manglar Park became an open movie theater for hundreds of Cartageneros who enjoyed a cinematic experience. under the starsa moment full of magic, connection and local pride.
On April 2, the lights of the iconic Adolfo Mejía Theater will officially kick off the 64th edition of the festival with the screening of the documentary “Alma del desierto”, directed by Cartagena native Mónica Taboada-Tapia. With this historic event, Monica becomes the first woman from Cartagena to open the festival, marking a milestone for female and local representation in the world of cinema.
