History
According to tradition, Casa Don Sancho was inhabited by Don Sancho Jimeno de Orozco, a Spanish nobleman and governor of Cartagena de Indias between 1693 and 1695.
Later, he became Lord of Castillo de San Luis on Tierra Bomba Island, bravely defending this fortress during the French assault on Cartagena in 1697. His legacy in Cartagena is reflected in a street bearing his name within the walled city. Today, our historic and colonial Hotel Casa Don Sancho is located on this privileged site.
