Sensory stimulation brimming with art
Located in the historical center of Cartagena de Indias, on Estanco del Tabaco Street, Casa de la Renta features an eclectic style with heaps of personality. It boasts six lavish rooms in a three-story architectural paradise.
A bold, artsy aesthetic characterizes the house’s common spaces and rooms, where statement pieces infuse the areas with a dynamism that makes people pause and talk. Upon entering, the courtyard opens up into a magnificent tropical setting, complete with a pool and an integrated jacuzzi surrounded by lush plants.
Throughout the ground floor, a palette of blue amidst pops of color evokes a sense of calm. In this setting, a large wooden dining table contrasts with a vintage metal chandelier, and a soft blue wall creates a unique gathering space. With its high ceiling, the second floor’s grand salon exudes chic sobriety.
Our goal was to create a harmonious and cohesive space filled with natural light thanks to the window glass doors that open into the dreamy street-side balcony. The terrace offers a small sanctuary for sunbathing and relaxing while admiring the stunning tower of Cartagena’s Cathedral.
There is something curious about every street name in the historic center of Cartagena de India, with its history, stories, and legends that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Our stunning and eclectic house sits on Calle Estanco del Tabaco, named after the house opposite our property, where the Spanish Crown’s tobacco monopoly was located in the 17th century. During this period, alcohol and tobacco were privileges of the Spaniards. As an homage to the street name, our home logo is a tobacco leaf representing privilege and affluence.
